We went to Thailand for three weeks for meetings in Chiang Mai, which is in the north. Then we headed to the beach in the south for some fun in the sun!
We got to Chiang Mai a few days before the meetings started, so we relaxed, walked around the city, and took a cooking class.
First we went to a market to learn about the veggies and buy the ones we need.Julia cooking something tasty.
Wrapping my spring rolls. They weren't quite as pretty as Boom's.
Eating the food that we cooked. It was tasty!
At the conference, it was nice to see people we met this summer. These girls teach in Cambodia.
It was so encouraging to hear everything that is happening in all of the different countries. Singing and worshiping with 600 people together was great. One of the main speakers was Michael Card. He had lots of good things to say. It was relaxing and fun to see old friends and meet new people.
After the meetings we went to Krabi - the beach! A sunset picture just for you Danae!
Palm trees, beach and water
We took a train home from Bangkok to Vientiane. It wasn't as shiny new as I was expecting, but it was a nice way to sleep on the 12 hour ride home.
Looking at all the crabs on the beach.
These were our little bungalows at the hotel.
Another sunset. Our hotel was right on the beach! very nice!
We did lots of reading!
Thailand was great, but it sure is nice to be back home again though! Kinda weird how Laos feels like home now. I taught today, so it was great to see my students and the teachers and friends again!!
